I just completed an shiva ebs endtable and it is great for movies, but now I want to build a music sub for mainly rock music. I have towers that are flat to 40hz and would like the sub to be a front firing, small and sealed with high output. The ebs is great for 40hz and lower but is missing that midbass punch. I would place the sealed sub somewhere between my towers. Any suggestions are welcome. What would be the difficulty in blending the two subs with my towers? Thanks
Can you clarify what you are trying to do?
Right now, you have:
sub < 40 Hz + towers > 40 Hz,
and you want to build another sub so that you get
old sub < 40 Hz + 40 Hz < new sub < X Hz + towers > X Hz?

Sounds to me like your existing sub is crossed higher than 40Hz and is messing up your upper base freqs. If it's crossed at 40Hz it shouldn't be having an effect on the Midbase IMO!
I'd just turn the sub off, if it sounds lacking in bass, then I doubt that the towers are flat to 40Hz......
Tony.
