I recently picked up a Sanyo STK4038ii from Steve at Apexjr, and am interested in perhaps building a subwoofer amplifier using it. I am wondering if anyone here has built an amplifier with this chip, or if there are any alternative schematics other than the one included in the Datasheet. I would like to get as much power as I can out of the chip for my intended application. Thanks

It seems that there is a lack of published/discussed builds for the stk chips. Is this because of the relative age of the chips (discontinued in '01), or may it be an issue relating to their sound?
hi there,i,ve made amplifiers using stk4040X and 4032X, 4032 has very nasty sound and distorts more than usual but 4040 is quite decent with very low distortion and goes up to 140rms without problem
I have both STK 4038 II and STK 4040 II in stock
