Is there any real world difference between 2SC5242 and 2SC3281 in amplifier repair?
Also, can TTC0001 and TTA0001 be used in place of output transistors in an device that originally used 2SC3182 and 2SA1265? (I dont want to use PMC manufactured devices , and only asking because I can source TTC/TTA right away)

Apart from 2SC5242 being 20 watts lower not really .
I cannot figure out you didn't choose 2SC5200 its from the same family as 5452 .

These parts are genuine pulled from working devices thats why I asked for those. Thank you for your reply.
The SOA curves are somewhat different, the 3281 is more robust at 1A for instance. In practice its secondary breakdown that usually pops bipolar output devices, not overvoltage.
