Hi,
I'm looking to build a (cheap!) projector using an overhead projector and an lcd projector panel. I'm trying to buy the panel on ebay, but I've seen a bunch of people saying that most of the panels on ebay are no good. I don't know much at all about diy projector parts, so I was wondering if you could recommend any of these panels:
Proxima Ovation A822C LCD projector panel
Proxima Dukane LCD Panel Projector 15' VGA Cable 25 pin
Starp QA-350B LCD Projector Panel DVD / Home Theater
(If I had no help in deciding, I would probably buy the Sharp)
Proxima Ovation Color LCD Projection Projector Panel
nView Z-110 z110 overhead projector lcd panel d
TYVM!

Oops! That's a cable, not a panel
I found a Sharp QA-1650, which I hear is recommended. This is probably the panel I'll buy unless anybody has anything bad to say about it (and the bidding stays within my price range).
Thanks

Hi,
You can see some results of the 2 panels I have used at the link below. I had a Proxima 944 on a da-lite 5000 lumen OHP and a Proxima 810 on 3m 3500 lumen OHP. Even the low end Proxima 810 had a decent picture as you can see at the link. You can also, check out some of the specification for other panels and compare features. I would definately not go any lower than 3500 lumen output with the OHP.

Unfortunatly, the 1650 is now out of my price range, and the Ovation 810 and 944's on ebay don't include power supplies. This seems to be a common theme among panels...
The spectra c seems to be my only option atm. Will I be disappointed?
Thanks

I hate to post twice in a row (sorry!), but more searching revealed an ASK Campus 700.
According to this page, it looks great. 16.7 million colors, 30ms response and all the inputs I would need. Has anybody used one of these?
Sorry for asking you guys all these questions, but I know barely anything about these panels and since my budget is limited, I want to make sure I get both the bang for my buck and a quality panel.

I have never used the ASk campus 700 but, the specs look good. Here is a link to the user manual for that panel. Make sure you get the remote with it because, according to the manual the remote is required to set the functions of the panel. Most panels don't need the remote but, this one does.

I was worried about that. I asked the seller if it was included, but it isn't listed in the auction and he hasn't responded yet.
Maybe I'll just have to pay the extra for the qa-1650 🙁

Can somebody verify these details?

All the specs you listed are correct for the qa 1650 except for the zoom to 600 X 800. The 1650 has an "enlarge" mode , where just the center of the picture is enlarged to twice its size. the 1650 manual doesn't mention anything about zooming to 600 X 800.
Hope this helps
