Any loudspeaker DIY builders in the KC area?

Hello

Are there any DIY loudspeaker builders in the KC area? I need some help. First speaker project

I built a pair of towers that rate at 4 ohms but when I hooked them up to the new NAD T754 A/V receiver they clipped out at around -38db after only a few minutes.

I had a MET build the crossovers for me.

My friend brought over his old Yamaha M-70 300 watt per channel and they sounded great.

I bought an older NAD 2200 PE power amp and hooked that up and they sounded even better.

No clipping on either one of those.

My question is why are they clipping the NAD T754? It is rated to handle 4 ohm speakers fine.

Would adding more polyfill tighten up the mids as this might be dropping the impedence down to the 2 ohm range?

At least that is what one friend thinks. It's just odd that the other two power amps push them fine.

This is the drivers I have in it.

Eosone 10" woofer ( Eosone was Polk Audio's high end series. Designed by Arnie Nudel)

Woofer was used in the RSF1000. Bought two of them from a company in Tennessee that purchased a lot of them when Polk shut down the division.

From Audio Review. Talking about the Eosone RSF 1000's:

Let me also give some history on Eosone. Designed By Arnie Nudel, (Genesis, and Infinity fame) these speakers reek of quality. I challange any audiophile to find speakers in this price range that,

A.use thick MDF and internal bracing,

B.weigh over 100 pounds,

C.high grade crossovers and internal wiring (I know because I popped the drivers off and took a look inside! and

D.offer a dipol 7 driver arrangement utilizing high grade drivers.

This is what you get for under 1500 dollars! And the RSC300 center has NO competitors in its price range. The encloser is solid, weighing in at 18 pounds, and also has a driver in the rear making it a dipol also, mating perfectly with the towers.

All in all these speakers are exceptional values. Also, did you know that Best Buy stopped selling Eosone speakers because the performance and quailty of the units were effecting there top seller...Polk Audio? And, that The Eosone line was purchased by Polk-Audio as Polks high-End speaker line, but the cost was prohibitive for them to continue the line? Sadly, Eosone no longer sells directly, though, you can call Polks headquarters to get any remaing units that might still be around. Those of us who got in early have a great pair of Audiophile-Grade speakers!

This is a top of the line Eosone woofer used in their 910 Powered Sub Woofer, and also the RSF1000 series.

It is 10 1/8" in dia, and fits into a 8 7/8" mounting hole, and is right at 4.5" deep. There are 8 mounting screws which are 9 3/4" center to center on the diagonal.

Great for a cabinet size in the 1 to 2.0 CF range, port tuned to about 36 Hz.

No B.S. here, this is an excellent speaker, made by a very high quality U.S. company, designed to reproduce exceptional bass response. If that is what you are after then you can't go wrong with these speakers.

Applications: 2 way or 3 way home system, home sub woofer, or a car audio component system
