I have a friend who need a cd player, I will look arround for a used one.
Any suggestions of good sounding cd player, brands and models numbers, that can be buy used, it can be up to 10 years old, it's for a small budget.

I can have a Denon DCD-425 at a used stock store, but cannot listen it there, anyone do know the sound quality of that Denon ?

I did go with my friend at the near small city, but the Denon DCD-425 at the used stock store was solded and there was only cheap used cd players, but we founded and buy, at another store, a Denon DCM-260, so I will replace the JRC4558 output opamps by OPA2134 and put small caps across the electrolytic output caps in that cd player.

I wouldn't buy a used CD player, partly because the lasers have a limited lifetime, and with the ongoing improvements you'd pay the same price for a new player as for a used one with the same performance.
DSP_Geek, I can understand your concern, but I have found some bargain old CD players for 10-20 quid.
I don't think a brand new £10-20 player would come close.
AND, due to the almost obscene ramping up of mass production, most modern stuff is not really built to last, it might die as soon as the old one (I had a Sony DVD-R fail on me within a year).
Don't be scared to buy an old one. If it does go wrong quickly, buy another - they're cheap enough.
