while browsing the DIY web pages thread I fell upon the excellent donhighend site which is in German. Using an online translator I was impressed by the Kaventsmann which is pretty much what I have in mind for my future (and maybe final (?)🙂) loudspeaker.
Problem is that I could not find anywhere else a reference or someone who has built it, apart from the author.
So any comments/insight on this or other similar designs will be very welcome.

well I just realized that impedance falls to 4 Ohm in the bass region.
This will not work well with an OTL amp I am using among others so I will probably keep looking for a more suitable design/kit in this respect

this is a nice option of course, however if I have the choice I would like to avoid the extra amplifier and active xover.
It is a good alternative though and I'll keep in mind, thank you!

so, to split the existing xover in two and drive both sections with full bandwidth? I think it's better to cross at line level and have each amp driving the corresponding frequencies only
It is more effective, of course - but i thought you didn't want to do active crossover, hence my suggestion.

- any experience with the kaventsmann 3-way speaker?
