HiVi RT2H-A which is sort of like a horn loaded ribbon. I'm thinking of crossing around 1700hz. Has anyone used this driver? This is the closest thing I can find to a spec sheet.

I had a pair several years ago when they were less expensive. Based on my experience I'd follow HiVi's advice: "Recommended Cut-Off Frequency -3dB:3000Hz".

Thanks I missed this, I guess I'm going to look at the Aurum Cantus AST2560 which can be crossed at 1900hz. Just need to figure out how to mount it correctly.
At some point, the 2560 changed in production. It rolls off sooner than that in newer units, and likely will not suit your needs.
I'd say 1.7k is a stretch (pun intended) for most ribbon/planar/AMT.

The quality of the old streched material with the Hivi was said better several years ago (understand better final SQ result) : Seems this horned planar is comming from the same chineese plant, all that brands have more or less the same model : Hivi, Monacor, Harwood, Dayton,... I forget surely one brand or two !

As far as i see, only the hivi use exactly that waveguide
and measurements are clearly the best of the lot

The rt2ha measure as well as the specs
