My problem ist as follows: On a yard sale I bought a E-MU USB 0204, just the board without casing. Someone ripped off the input and output jacks.
Nonetheless it is working, at least with some headphones.
As I want to use the outputs and inputs too, I tried to figure out how to connect some new jacks, but I failed at least when it comes to that quirky combo jack thingy. All I can identify without doubt are the ground pads.
What I'm asking you for: Could please open your 0204, insert a TRS plug in each of the input and output jacks and tell me to what pads the continuities from tips and rings are? The possible candidates are as marked below:
I hope I'm not asking for too much ...

In the absence of people wanting to open their equipment, just look up on the Neutrik website the datasheet for the Combo Series jacks, which details the pinout.
That's what I already did, but obviously my 0204 had built in an older Model of combo jack, no datasheet for that ...🙁
Can you not power up the board and touch a signal on what you suspect are the inputs to see if you get an output ?
Indeed, that's a good idea!
Thanks!
And how to distinguish between the + and - signal? It has balanced inputs ...

Now I feel dumb somehow.
What oxidates unused on my shelf? A thingy with many knobs, switches, jacks and a small cathode ray tube. Geez, Alzheimer's ... 🙄
