Is a 5687 JAN tube useable?

Looked around to see if anyone had tried this. Don't want to pop my power supply (in a separate enclosure).

Are you asking if a 5687 tube can be used in a 4S Universal preamp instead of a 12A*7?

I don't think so... anyway, you can't just plug a 5687 where a 12A*7 tube is used.

You can buy an adapter and try it. What's the worst possible thing that could happen?

Thanks, I didn't go there. Have plenty of suitable tubes.
