So I’ve already searched for eminence 15” vented aluminum dust cap and the numbers on the back with no luck. Guessed at Eminence as the “67” suggests they we the source, but no other reason to assume it. Any ideas?

No writing on the cone. Should have mentioned that in the first post.
It came in an eninence beta-15 box, which also suggested eminence, but I’m betting the beta replaced this and they reused the box as this doesn’t look enuf like a beta-15.
But its not blown, so nonetheless happy. Just wish i knew more.

lol, here were a plug is 240v 16A, that's 3840W at 50hz, so lightning and thunder...The number indicates Eminence made the 39th week of 1974.
I have given away at least one.
I would concur with waxx on its usefullness - the kind of woofer where you ask, what if I just connected it to the AC?

And yes, i did try that, don't do that at home!
LOL, I did that once too. Got lucky enough to launch a flaming voice coil right across the room ":^)
BTW. I suspect the bass player who tried this speaker didn’t like it because it isn’t a bass speaker! Light cone, highly ribbed, and curvilinear, 2” voice coil. No way this is a bass player’s speaker.
Not sure I’d play lead on it either. I more expect it was made by Eminence for an organ or console stereo.

That would be my guess, maybe a bit more than that since I did take it out of somethingEminence for an organ

Can you get a better side shot of the magnet?
I may have a pair with identical stamped frames and a full range cone instead.

These were originally used in the early 1970's in bass cabinets like the Sunn Sorado bassamp, rated at 60W (for 2 drivers). This Sorado cabinet is still popular for rockabilly bands down here to be used with a standing bass (Contrabas) with an element. I did repair a cabinet recently. That is how i know about it. But in no way this is a modern bass cabinet, it does not go below 50Hz and don't go very loud. The picture is from internet as illustration.BTW. DC. Let me know if you need a different pic.
I likewise believe the cone on mine is closer to full range for the reasons i state above. (I have not tested them yet)
Contrabass makes more sense. And stretching, but it sure loos like that vented aluminium dest cap thru the grill cloth, so we we now know of at least 1 production use of these.
I’ll share once i get them in something and tested.
Maybe i should have mentuoned, my interest is as an audiophile for home use which is why how good/bad they are as bass use isn’t much interest to me. If anyone has FR graphs or t/s or other insights, that would be interesting to me.

My driver looks more like this as far as magnet structure. You may be able to measure xmax by pulling up the cover and measuring coil overhang.
Likely would be a good midbass driver.
Just measure with REW to see if there is much upper midrange breakup or not.

Did you move tgat cover fir the picture or is yours missing?
Mine seems to be held down against the basket pretty well, so not going to force it and, of course, want to keep it in place to keep dust out

I pulled the cover to get the picture. Cover was sort of glued on but is also magnetically attached.
