those passive radiators are quite nice. Can you use more than one to accommodate a larger sub driver?
Perhaps someone will care to run the numbers. I'd imagine 2 might work for some ten's. Once you start to buy multiples the price approaches some nicer stuff, like the Dayton DVC series or especially the Stryke PR's.

With speakers this small, forget a passive radiator!!!! I will attest the MCM 55-2421 is a beefy little 8incher. I have one sitting in the garage right now. MCM also sells a little 40wattRMS plate amp for around the same price(which isnt the best unit, but does put out enough power to push the 8" decently) and I'm planning to use the combo as a small powered sub for my computer.
My real sub for the stereo is an Adire Tumult.... put that sucker in a 6 cubic foot enclosure and just tell me how you can make a 16hz port which will A. fit in the box B. Not chuff C. have minimal pipe resonance. This is where you need a passive radiator(or two!)

You could just vent the box, but it requires a couple of long small ports (2 X 1.5 inch diamter 9.6 inch long, for example) or a slot. For $25 it seems much easier to cut a big hole and screw a cool looking PR in.
