Got one.
I haven't taken it apart yet.
but there are jacks on the back for direct in CD in that are clean and seem straight to the power amp.
So for $99 you get stereo Amp, Chassis, and SMPS. Not bad. I'll take it apart soon and see if I can just replace the front panel and guitar preamp works but maybe I'll leave them for a jam along. 🙂
It's probably 45W channel at low THD

I had a powerblock that I bought from guitar center. I loved the sound both with music and guitar, but it seemed like there was high frequency hash on the transients.
I returned the first on that I got and got an exchange, but the new one was the same. It still sounded pretty good with cd's, but there was a fair amount of distortion in the high end.
Does anyone have the same experience with this? I told the guy at guitar center about it, and he said the amp was not designed to be used with monitor speakers. It was designed to be used with guitar speakers which roll off anything about 6k.
Perhaps the powerblock was designed that way? Or is anyone experiencing good full range sound? If I got a couple of duds, I'm willing to order another one and try again.
I did open it up to see if it had something obvious broken inside. I can say that it's not a tripath chip - that would have made modification/fixing easier. The power section seems to be running off a discrete daughterboard. The power supply rails are +/- 25 V, so it's outputting less power than a tripath 2022.
