Yes, but the NAC and CAC don’t have much of a pattern, just five lines. Maybe they work to reduce unwanted ringing. Scan Speak does a similar thing with curves, which is the basic idea. My idea is to add complexity in the cuts and folds to increase rigidity and possibly damp the outrageous ringing associated with cone shaped drivers in the upper range. One thought is to take the five pressed lines and make them resemble trees with branches. Or, there could be lines of different lengths, based on a mathematic function, stamped around the rim of the cone.
Also, unwanted harmonics are distortion whether they are electrical or mechanical.

That’s the closest to my idea yet! The TW8B has a spun aluminum cone with bumps pressed into the edge. I tried to find a better image, this was the best I could find. These were great direct radiating speakers in their day.

I don’t know if it’s metal or not but I’m pretty sure it’s made from unobtanium.
Interesting that it uses 9 creases, an odd number but not a prime number. I would think 7 or 11 would be better?

That’s a good point! Unfortunately I’m more of a builder and don’t really like extended periods of computer time. Well, except for posting on the internets.😂
Lii Song, but they aren’t metal. Nice creases though.

Arendal 1528 woofer has an interesting pattern, actually the whole speaker is interesting, if you can stand the hype.

The Eton Arcosia drivers are metal with a geometric pattern of small holes cut out then filled with Olefin (a synthetic polymer). Maybe not exactly what you’re looking for, but certainly in the same spirit. Subjectively I can tell you that these drivers do a great job suppressing any harsh breakup. I’ve looked hard for wideband metal drivers and these are probably my favorite ones.
