If referring to the MXQ it normally boots fine, occasionally I have found a hang-up which I assume may be due to a USB HDD and the wall wart power dips when the HDD starts up. You would get an improved audio feeding a simple DAC via the SPDF output and add a 4700uF/16V cap connected across the input power terminals.
