Sad news, he was one of the best tech communicators here who could explain a concept at my level without making me feel stupid. A loss of personality and knowledge for all here.
I just heard this very sad news from Nigel Pearson on jlh theard and I'm really sad.
I learned a lot from Andrew and his explanations.
RIP Andrew and my condolences to your family

Perhaps the powers here on DIY could as a memorable to Andrew create say "moderator emeritus" for all of his 60k plus postings,
RIP to the great AndrewT

Wow - I can’t say anymore than what other members have already said.
A great loss for this community.
Although I never had a conversation with Andrew, I have learned (much) from his posts and explanations. One could always rely on Andrew to be direct and unwavering in his views.
I will miss his presence here.
My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

I remember posting something incredibly stupid on my first post here over 13 years ago (I had no knowledge whatsoever in electronics). Andrew set me straight, in a very odd, but not offensive way, and without just giving me the answer. He made me think thru the question and solve on my own.
He once sent an angry email about my previous Signature Line that was non-to-kind to teachers (I truly meant nothing by it). I immediately changed it, as I had not wanted to offend him further, and not jeopardize getting his replies on my posts...
RIP, and thanks.

He's been a valuable contributor and always been helpful who put this forum where it is today. His light bulb during power on test saves many projects. Always strees safety and makes one think and not be lazy. We will surely miss your post, RIP and condolences to your loved ones.
Few people gave as much of here time helping others as AndrewT. My favorite thing about him as he always took criticism well, never lost his cool and just kept carrying on. Let’s keep our signal wires twisted in his honor (one of his favorite subjects).
Very sad news. He gently guided me when I needed, we also exchanged some PMs.
Is there a Ceroc Club up there?
RIP Mr. Andrew.

Wow, this is sad news. I always enjoyed his input even when he would quietly put me in my place (not always hard to do here). Condolences to his family and friends should they ever read this.
Oh shock, so sad.
It tears a hole in community.
He will be mist and not eorgotten.
Rest in Peace and condolences to family.
