For Sale An Army of Iron...

Things you have for sale.
I have an Army of Iron for sale: 4 counts of Hammond 193R chokes, 4 counts of Hammond 193U chokes, 4 Antek AS-2T230, 2 counts of Hammond 193A, 200H plate chokes, and 2 Silk grid chokes... all in the amp pictured, not to mention separate power supplies for each tube and the collection of poly chokes within. I am entertaining offers. Of course the entire amp is up for sale if you'd like. Come see me at Chums Corners just outside of Traverse City Michigan. I have several amps and much back stock that I must part with.

Nobody NEEDS it. What is depicted is a pair of SET monoblocks built with no resistors in the signal path and the DCR that is present is Minimal. PSU DCR (CLCLC to individual/single Chanel LC finals) is about 10ohms from AC secondary to the tubes with less than 4mV of ripple/noise. It’s pretty dang dynamic… and very heavy 🙃

I just like the construction. Low resistance filtering isn't usually high on my priority list, but I don't avoid it, either. 4mv is acceptably low. Are there details to the build floating around?

Low DCR is one way to skin the cat, there are many others. It was my introduction to amp building and that low DCR was he pole star for my mentor.

Its a great amp!

Outside of its weight and the overwhelming collection o amps I’ve built since then I’d not put it up for adoption. It looks like it will be parted out, kinda sad. I’m 62 and have bad knees, somethings got to give. I’ll be selling off more stuff throughout the summer.

I know I’ve posted the schematic on the tube forum but I’ve lost track of where. If anybody was really interested in this type of build, they’d be all over this chance to obtain the required army of iron. Everyone will be charting some other way to skin their cat. I guess that’s good for all of us 🤩
