anyone know what Mark & Daniel are using?
or do they make their own ?

It seems a custom unit.
Have you listened to any of their speakers?
Edit: i think it's a ribbon not an AMT.
Mark & Daniel AMT
The Mark & Daniel IS an AMT, folded pleats and all. I got a pair as samples. Interesting, one was 4 Ohms.... the other one came in at 1.75 Ohms... not real good QC in my opinion...
I wouldn't recommend them.

I look to the specs of the M&D AMTs : none will run under 700 Hz...
Is there any affordable PMD going down to 200 Hz ?

The Mark & Daniel AMT´s are better sounding than Mundorf and Beyma as tested by me.
The only issue with the Mark & Daniel AMT´s are the build quality that varies.
Of 30 units 12 faceplates (glued) was loose - 3 was broken (faceplates),
and a number of the faceplates was glued upside down.
This was only a cosmetic issue and ALL Mark & Daniel AMT´s have performed OK in other respects.

For example, the DM-4 is responsible from 750Hz up to 25 KHz ; the recommended crossover frequency may be chosen in between 750Hz to 1.5 KHz, the efficiency is around to 88dB/2.83V/1m in average.
Then definitively not a very large bandwidth and a low sensitivity...

I ended up using DM-4 from 1800Hz and a DM-2a above 13kHz - both in wave-guides...
I tried 8 units of the DM-4 in series / parallel in a dipole baffle, but this was not any success in any respect...
Nonetheless, the difference in impedance (i.e. 4ohm and 1,75 ohm -see above) is ridiculous, if you cant have them matched, they are unusable IMO.

Mind to elaborate?

All units I received had the impedance written on the boxes.
So I could pick sets that matched in impedance...
The variance was within +- 0.1 Ohm for all drivers.
Hi
i can't believe nobody has posted about the new driver Hawthorne audio is developing .
here is a link w/ more information:
Hawthorne Audio • View topic - Silver Iris Reference AMT official thread
very sweet, high efficiency 100db or more (105?) , comes with horn , could be used with a dipole horn also , front and back .
lower extension down to 500HZ !!!
this is what i have been looking for .
right now Hawthorne is developing a complete speaker to bring to the market and considers offering the AMT w/ horn later ,
BUT,
as Darrel says:
If enough interest is expressed in having us sell these as stand alone products we may consider revisiting our proposed time line and make getting these out a higher priority.
so here i am spreading the word. if this driver holds what it promises it will be a dream come true for me .
here is some eye candy from the thread above:
