Hi Folks,
I'm working on a 12v deep cycle battery based sound system for a friend. Obviously the efficiency of class D amps could be quite useful. What I'd like to know is:
- what class d modules are particularly suited to 12v rails
- if any of the above are stable into a 2ohm load
The lazy solution would be a couple of the dayton tripath amps, but I imagine there's probably better options out there.

Any Tripath 2020 based amp is optimal as they are 2 Ohms stable with sufficient cooling. The Dayton is not suitable for your use as it's not 2 Ohms stable, and it's also too expensive in my mind compared to paying a little extra for one of the much better Tripath 2020 based amps out there (41Hz, Topping, Hlly and so on).
See link in sig for ideas/solutions.

I'll second Saturnus' suggestion and toss in the 2021b, which is pretty much the same thing in a smaller package, if space is a concern. It may be found in various 41hz kits like the Amp32. Be advised, it's all surface-mount, and a pretty challenging build. But, it has the footprint the size of a large postage stamp.
