you can read a little here Fulton Musical Industries - Home
There's nothing interesting to read there, just the picture of some old dude...😕
Looks like a fake.

Oh , what subjective B$ !!
That "bog standard" carver with the EF3 would beat anything that most consumers
have in their possession.
"very complex" ?? That is a "TOY" amp !! But it will still beat most OEM
garbage today.
OS
horrible speakers do need horrible amps. No doubt, your speakers and the carver will match.
I would try the carver.

everything is subjective
but looking at the carver design servo on the "front end" not the back end...this I have not seen in any amplifier..
there are lots of amplifiers that look alike but I would bet this is a real good one...wish i could get my hands on one for testing..
again IMO AB amplifiers sound the most natural to me
maybe class A can be done without its own sound??

yeah
not much information out there...my audio mentors knew him on a personal level and I have lots of info on the man and his company ...I put that link out there so you can read little about what Robert fulton was achieving its a real shame that he died so young otherwise I think we could have had a real good amplifier that was more faithful to live music his speakers IMO have not been matched ...I have owned several very hi end systems electrostatics etc..nothing give me that Live sound like the fultons can

It will be useful if you publish a list of disgraced, unnatural sounding class A amps. Were those sent to you for reviewing?
come on now
not trying to start anything with anyone...thats not what this thread is about..
again These are my subjective thoughts...if you like it fine by me...

Most of class-A have high output impedance. It means they cannot control the movement of the speaker's cone. The bass then sound "fluffy"... no "grip"...
Most class-A are also simple circuit with high 2nd order distortion. It means "sweeter than reality"...
But the definition of class-A itself is a perfection. No crossover distortion when positive signal portion is superimposed with negative signal portion...
Of course class-A can be done without it's own sound... Because most amplifiers are already using class-A in input stage and in voltage stage (VAS)...
Extrema and PGP are two complex class-A (which I haven't built, and no intention to build them either) that might sound different than most class-A...
But there is common solution to the problem of class-A amplifier (i.e. the low damping capability, and to some extent, automatically, the high 2nd order distortion)... You have to use suitable speaker... It will be the opposite of your Fulton speaker... And if low frequency is needed, then the size will be much bigger than the Fulton...
Thanks
wondering why all the fluff about class A because it Never IMO sounds like the real thing...ok so it does not shut off and have crossover distortion LOL BFD! I dont hear this crossover distortion....
What does crossover distortion sound Like ???????????
someone much more intelligent then me said class AB does not have crossover distortion for the first few watts...

That's what a class-AB is: class-A at first few (milli) watts, class-B for the rest...
What does crossover distortion sound Like ???????????
Interesting question... 😀 I myself think that the critical perceived sound difference doesn't come from the crossover distortion but from the fact that class-A has very low high order distortions...
Theory and practic- my experience,-:
Damp the speakers more.
The most speakers need not big damping - better, they do a little bit their own thing.
Class A,-? - Better to differ se and pp. Than: not-complementary-pp and (dirty) complementary-pp. Than the complexity. Than class A or A/B.
The most dis-interpret grey, flat, noisy, blunt-rough, rumble complex-complementary-pp with damping. But it is not clearness.

see I knew you know
your the smarter one...but I am learning love learning...
now...just need to find a better sounding amplifier that will beat my hk...
darn it have to build something and start somewhere but my head is spinning with all these different amps...
the carver amp looks like a real good one it maybe the best of the best...anyone with direct experience with this amplifier?
