You see what you hear: Class D lacks high tones. But that's not all. I don't understand why the tops of the first waves are cut lopsided.

Yes, I also recognize a similar defect in the second wave. So, maybe the woofer can't be fully controlled?

Well, no. The woofer can be controlled to a certain extent, but if it is non-linear you're beat. There is no feedback from the acoustic output (some subwoofers try this).
