Could he be looking for a regulated supply for the low current end of his power amplifier?I'm looking for about 75-80 Vout, Iout approx 1.5-2A peak,
1.5Apk is just about enough for a heavily loaded driver transistor for a 200W amplifier into 8ohms speaker.
Good PSRR is good to have, of course, but when you clip (and you will often, at any reasonable volume level and listening to non compressed music) PSRR becomes ZERO, as in 100% of ripple appears modulating waveform peaks.
You can minimize this, either playing at a gentle volume (say, 10% average vs. RMS rating) or listening to highly compressed music.
If you clip and PSRR goes to zero, you wont be hearing it - it will be masked by the loud music I think.
However, I like to think of clipping as a 'non-normal' condition. If you are clipping a lot, you should get higher efficiency speakers, or a more powerful amp.
But, as always, be mindful of the damage loud sounds can do to your ears!
