I have a plate amplifier that my friend got of a subwoofer and i have no idea how to use it, but he said i need a preamp and a volume control, but i still dont know how to connect the power supply up or how to hook the driver to it,
Right now its just the module were all the electronic pieces are with a few cables and it also has a power supply connected to it but i dont know how to connect that to the power point either?
Could somone please help me with this dillemma i can tell you more about the stuff if you need it.
Thanks a lot if you can help🙂 😀

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Oh, it's in that state, with out the (missing) preamp daughter board it's going to very difficult to get it up and running I'm sorry to say.
You'll need an active low pass filter as well, but then you still have to hook it up the right connections on the amp board.
It's probably fixable, just not easily, you have much electronics experience?

I am not the best at electronics but i have an ok general knowledge of things and i usually pick things up as i go 😀
Ok, look me up on msn or ICQ, it'll be quicker that way, and I'll guide you along as much as I can.

hey volenti great job...
1. if maxdeaf wants to use this amp purely as a sub amp there is one way....
a) use a passive low level XO to filter out the bass i think crutchfield (www.crutchfield.com) sells such
b) now need to have all those controls. all one needs is a level control at most. passive level controls are also easy. and then he needs a power switch here I would use a relay that is triggered from the switched output of a AV amp so he does not have to power the sub manually.
c) then cover all the holes on the back plate and enjoy
am i missing something.

There's a plug on the tranny wires that looks to have a socket on the amp board, I can't see a discrete diode rectifier bank on the circuit board but a diode pack is no doubt there somewhere.
There also is a relay there that will need to be triggered (normally by the daughter board, signal sense)

on further observation me thinks the left section of the PCB has some sort of power supply on it.
hey max cna you post exploded pics of the PCB fo us....
I think there is a location for a diode bridge there somewhere.

The big blue thing on the board looks like a relay with the rectifier above...the black blocky rectangluar thingy...
