SMDs are much faster to solder. I got myself soldering hot plate and its nice!

Input buffer board is attached too.

It uses similar power delivery with CCS using MOSFETS. The author claims better sound when using them.

That's not a CCS. That's a zener regulator with a source follower output. The current in the zener is set by a CCS but the power to the opamp is not provided by a CCS.

I use a toaster oven and a thermocouple thermometer. Works well for prototypes.
