Good idea...will reduce distortion also....might be difficult to implement if you've already done the PCB..... would recommend a driver between second,and third stages, with resistively cross-coupled emitters...rather than a garden variety darlington.
The dual slope SOA protection is not bad......could be improved though..🙂
