I have recently built two Micro Marty's with the 390ho drivers. Currently running off a single Crown xls1502. That gives me 525 watts per side at 4 ohms, high passed at 30hz. I would like to upgrade to get all that I can out of my suds. Looking at the NX3000D. That would give me 900 watts per side and better DSP. I feel like this is a good fit. My only misgiving is the talk of Behringer amps power ratings being over rated. Thoughts. Options and first hand experience would be very appreciated.
Given that the Berry amp is likely at least a little overestimated by specs, I think it's really unlikely you'll notice a difference in real output. The difference between 525w and the likely ~750-800w the Behringer puts out is less than 2dB. Not likely to be perceptible. What are you looking to get out of the DSP that the Behringer offers over the Crown?
The Behringer amp has better DSP. The lowest high pass for the crown is at 30hz. I'm thinking I can get a little lower with the Behringer? My Crown clips rather easily, I feel like I am leaving too much on the table.
Seems like the easiest fix is dropping a MiniDSP into the mix to handle anything you need on the DSP side of things. The power output on the NX3000 isn't enough higher to warrant buying it. Doubling power results in just a 3dB increase (not taking power compression into account.) If you're buying the behringer for DSP, a minidsp is a better and cheaper option. If you're buying the behringer for more power, you should choose a model that offers a significant increase. Although given the power handling of the 390HO I wouldn't go too crazy with it.
Then the 6000 it is. Any suggestions on the power limit on the micros say crossed at 25hz. Thanks so much for your help.
The NX6000, if it keeps up with an NU6000 (likely, IMO - the internals are rather similar), will put around 2KW into each driver.
Careful you don't burn them out.
FWIW, I'd want much more port area for a cone that size - I'd expect a fairly early onset of compression in the lower registers.

What's the site?
Ever wonder why amps with output power displays sometimes have ".1" buttons on the display so that the display shows 0-20 watts on a 200 watt amp?
Ever measured the power you are using?
