I took the plunge and bought an Amphony 1520 wireless for my surround speakers. It was the only moderately priced wireless amp I could find(except the 1550), but after taking it apart, it doesn't look so hot.
Here is a picture. If anyone wants more, just ask. It uses the Tripath TA2000, which I haven't heard much about. The inductors are air-core, but are like slinkies.
If anyone has any advice on how to mod it, please feel free to share. I was thinking of shielding the inductors and replacing the two output caps with 2.2uF Jensens. A stiffening cap would probably be wise as well.
I'm only using it for my surround speakers, but I might test it out with my front speakers just to see how it sounds.
