About 13 years ago I was an avid cabinet maker. Mostly for my friends cars and a few custom home set ups. Nothing crazy just straightforward configurations.
At this point, I'm re-entering the DIY audio scene and turing my focus towards amps. I'm hoping to learn how to build and amp from scratch for a couple hundred dollars; maybe pillaging a few non working amps for parts and what not. It's for my desk at work and I'm looking for a very simple single rca in no radio and perhaps just a terminal cup for the speaker hookups.
I'm wondering also if there is a store in the NYC area that is like madisound or even parts express that I can rummage through prts bins and find crossover parts etc…
Anyway, happy to be here.

Welcome to the forums, sounds like you'll fit in nicely.
Pillaging broken stuff can be quite enjoyable - ebay seems to be a good source...
