Amp causing popping noise?

Hey everyone.

So i installed a 1000w amp in my car this weekend. This is the first time i installed an amp in my car before. Anyways, i got it working eventually. The amp seems to work fine. The problem is that when i turn off the stereo, there is a loud popping noise that comes out of the speakers. I don't know what is causing this nor how to fix it. Any help would be great, thanks!

The remote terminal of the amplifier is supposed to be connected to the amp remote wire of your radio, it should be a blue or blue/white wire on the radio. Is that the wire you connected to the amp's remote lead?

Yes i did connect this remote lead to the correct lead (i am pretty sure) of the head unit.

The amp is a Lanzar VIBE236 2 Channel 1000W.

Try this and let us know what happens. With the ignition turned off, losen the screw on the remote terminal and remove the wire from the amp. Make sure it can not touch ground and go turn on the key and the radio. Carefully touch and hold the wire to the remote terminal. Let the amp come on and then remove the wire. Does it still pop?
