I am a member of Ebay.co.uk
Recently I was viewing some items for sale from the UK seller when I came across their terms & conditions:
"My items are not for sale in USA as you are too much a ligatious society"
I am intrigued.....do you sue everyone for everything?
If I want to sell you guys in America something...should I be worried?

I have been on ebay for many years and things do change...
Ebay used to be fun, especially here in usa you could find nice stuff on ebay for peanuts. These days some people take broken receiver, not worth $10, and start selling its parts, like pots, meters, boards, heatsink, trafo...each for $10. Rediculous what some people ask for junk these days.
Plus these days I find way too many crooks on ebay. Alarmingly here in us. I do not care about china and hong-kong, half of those are crooks.
I do not know about "everyone sue everyone for everything..", but certainly ebay policy changed a lot. If you come across a bidder who does not pay, you can not even leave negative feedback to him. Stupid policy. Yet, he can leave you, seller, with negative feedback. If he bids, and decides later that he overbids, or no longer wants it, nothing you can do. I contacted ebay many times about it and their response was "it would detract bidders if you can leave them with negative feedback." Yet, you pay fees as seller to ebay.

So where does that leave the "honest guy"? Like me. Spent 30+ years collecting.
As a hi-fi collector and music listener what I do is buy a number of the item I require and then sell what I don't need.
I always keep at least 4 of what I don't need, because of minimum order, and sell on my extras at a price which doesn't include profit.
BUT.... I am led to believe that if I sell anything to America then I am open to the "sue me" practices that go on over there.
I want to sell off some of my hi-fi British and EU collection, as my teenagers don't appreciate the difference between MP3 & hi-fi, but perhaps ebay is not the right place to go.

We're geting too close to our no politics policy here guys. I have removed one post, let's keep the comments in check please.
I think there's not much worry. If someone sues you in the US, it's going to be hideously expensive and likely unproductive to try to get a judgment enforced in Spain. Worth it for multi million dollar deals, not so much for a few hundred bucks. If someone wants to sue you in Spain, it's going to cost them a LOT and probably go nowhere.
The E-Bay guy is being a drama queen, IMO.
BTW, the word you mean is "litigious," not "legislative."

Ooops, hope it wasn't me.
I wish to say that my listening room is open to all you guys from around the world.
I worked hard for my "Soundproofed Room" and my Speakers. After that I worked even harder mending my amps. You are all welcome if ever you visit Barcelona in the mountains....
Bring along a 2SA1215 transistor (or 6), and I will fill the coffee cup.
Yes guys I live in the absolute mountains above Barcelona and I will gladly let you put on an LP, (If you promise not to score it), choice of 13 record decks.
One thing.......you will go home wanting my speakers..😛

This statement is true and I haven't even seen them. I am known to give lost and lonely speakers a good home where they can be warm, feel loved and be with others of their kind.
Let's see some pictures of your speakers.
EDIT: I see adason is quicker with the quill than I.
C'mon that's just a tease. It looks like a Manger in a spherical enclosure? Please tell us more. And tell us about the little guys on the side wall too. You're holding out on us. 🙂
After many years futtering with electronics and hi-fi I decided that I should spend 90.000 euros on a good set of speakers. Beyond that I shall try to fit in the amplification.
I am pleased becaused the Speakers are fully adjustable to my listening environment. I built the room around the speakers. Another 50,000 euros.
I am in Nirvana with my listening. Just now I want to learn more about electronics.
Sucking up the knowledge in retirement.

Yes a Manger with a Spherical enclosure. But even Dr. Seniorita Manger will agree that her father never achieved that without the developement of Senior Wilson, in a farm in England.
Things move on and things stay still.
The secret was always in the "egg" sphere.
Enjoy.
Little Guys on the wall are my collection of Rogers JR149 speakers. I told you I am a collector. I have many, many more amazing hi-fi things in my collection.
Example.....My Akai GX77 reel to reel player is the most up to date machine in the world, thanks to your fellow american Dr. Steven Bender. We have kept in contact for many years and between us we hope that others will be able to maintain their own mahines.
So, don't be disallusioned by what you come across in this DIYaudio website. There are those of us who want to pass on our knowledge to others. [for nothing]
Thank you (DIYaudio) for giving us this space.

Retirement with DIY HI-FI is bliss!
If you went to the Kabutz in wherever, you can lead the simpliflied fruit and vegetable life. If you come here you can come here and play with a soldering iron!
Photo = Snr. Wilson, designer of the Manger Egg and bass unit, setting it up in my home. [The guy standing up.]
Derek Wilson is one of these guys who puts 100% time into a project before getting bored. I feel lucky having caught him in his throes of this design stage.
As a highly critical listener I am pleased to say that I value his unique speakers and can say, hand on heart over 30 years listening, these are the best speakers I have ever heard.
I may have been a little flambuoyant in my dollar quotation in my earlier post, but that includes all the electronics in the DEQX stage. Each driver having it's own amp & room equalisation also. Sorry!
Meantime.....you are welcome to visit Barcelona and enjoy your music in my room.
Regarding my English collection......it is soon to be diminished as I'm finding such an interest from the UK. My JR149's are all, but one, sold. My Record decks, including a prestine "Hydraulic Transcriptor" are still available.
Perhaps I should transfer this thread to the "for sale" thread. At the moment I will restrict this to my original thread......"If I sell to America am I likely to be surprised with litagation? Bear in mind that my gear is over 30yrs old and kept in immaculate condition!
PS:
I will never! sell anything of mine, just to make a profit. I am governed by my own conciounce!
