Audiophile Meeting, Saturday, May 22, 2010 starting at 12:30 PM, 4 Piermont Rd., Rockleigh, NJ

THE ULTIMATE TWEAK
Greatly Enhance the Reproduction of Stereo LPs/CDs/SACDs/MP3s or 5.1 Surround Media by Using RACE

Take the RACE Challenge!
Bring your favorite CD and take home a RACE CD-R to play on your own system and compare Ambiophonics to stereophonics.

We have made major progress in producing Ambiophonic CDs. We can now take anybody's favorite stereophonic CD (or 2.0 LP for that matter) and turn it into an Ambiophonic CD that they can take home and experiment with. The process takes only a matter of minutes depending on how many tracks there are. We intend to make one CD-R for each attendee. Several Ambiophonic listening stations will be available during the meeting to audition the newly minted CDs and compare them to the stereo originals but I assume audiophiles will want to do this comparison at home using their own components and loudspeakers.

While the CDs are being made I can show any interested attendees how to do it on their own PCs. Otherwise, unless requested, there is no formal presentation planned. There will be a running acoustic demonstration of what stereo crosstalk and the resultant tonality shift sounds like. It is hoped that those attending will eventually want to use either a TacT processor or an all digital in/out PC (no chance of sound card or any other distortion) to listen to all their old or new disc collections without having to make copies each time.

Vladimir Slep, a long time audiophile will recount his experiences with Ambiophonics. He is bringing some vintage CDs, Simon & Garfunkel, Ray Orbison, and Dave Brubeck, among others that he has processed and which now appear to have unusual depth and stage presence. He will set up his own system somewhere in the building.

Again, any ordinary commercially available CD can be processed (without having to make copies) by this new type of digital audio program (RACE) which allows most two channel recordings to be played in home listening rooms with unprecedented stage width, depth and binaural realism i.e. loudspeaker binaural. Normally the free RACE program is installed in a home preamp, surround processor, or PC, so that it can be adjusted to taste and used to optimally reproduce your existing collection of CDs, LPs, or surround DVD/SACDs via two or four speakers. In stereophonics, the stage is limited to the angle between the speakers. In 2 speaker Ambiophonics the stage can extend beyond the speakers to widths of 150 to 180 degrees with a clearly enhanced sense of depth depending on the recording. In 4 speaker Panambiophonics a full 360 degree circle of sound can be heard in movies, games, etc. starting with 5.1 media. (Note that for video, a center speaker is never required or desirable.)

Remember that these demos CDs are made using average settings that may not be optimum for your ears, or playback system. All available Ambiophonic programs and components have controls to allow adjusting for optimum performance with any PC/component home system, recording, or individual hearing characteristic and it is hoped that attendees will decide to incorporate RACE into their systems.
