Amazing new TI ADC

Considering it’s application of a mems microphone adc it’s pretty impressive bit of technology for the price.
The pcb layout looks straight forward considering they show you an example in fig 7.7 and also in the evaluation design. The Vqfn package are fun to hand solder 🙂
 
A nice feature is that the different modes are pin selectable, so no need for an MCU. The dynamic range enhancer is basically a system that increases the gain for low level signals and uses calibration techniques to achieve a click free transition between gain steps. Similar techniques can be found in hearing aids. So the S/N is rather constant, but DR is increased. fits our ears.
