Does anybody have a schematic for the Alto TS115a powered speakers? I emailed the company about a week ago and haven't heard back.
I have two of these speakers and the class D woofer doesn't work on both, they crapped out at the same time during a gig. I think I found the problem is on the preamp board. There is a bunch of 4580 opamps on this board and it's hard to trace the signal path without a schematic.
Thanks

sorry if it sounds like a dumb question but are the drivers ok? i'm curious to know what lead you to the pre-amp stage as the fault area?
sorry 'bout not being able to help with schematics or your lack of response from the company(been there all too often) but the pinout for the 4580 is readily available if that helps at all.

Nope the 15" is blown in both.

On the preamp board there is a "low" out and "high" out going to power amp board. With a 1kHz sine wave going in I thought I had a very distorted signal on the low out but I was mistaken and it was actually on the high out.
So at the moment the 15" drivers needs to be replaced and I need to figure out whats going on with the "high" out on the preamp board. When music is played through the unit only the tweeter gets sound from it and it is horribly distorted.
does indeed seem to spell trouble in that stage (crossover)
does the "low" amp function or is it pushing up daisies?
not knowing what you have at your disposal for troubleshooting can you generate a lower frequency tone?(or a square wave assuming you have an O'scope to monitor with)

Yes the low amp functions.

Yes I can generate lower tones and I can also generate square waves.
Resurrecting my old thread here.
I was thinking of getting these things working again and so I took off the dust cap and this is what I found. It looks like the coil came loose or something. Maybe excessive heat from use causes the adhesive to breakdown?
I found the same speaker: Alto Professional HK12819 15 4 Ohm Woofer for TS115A | Full Compass
But I don't have a good feeling getting the same model for it is probably junk too and will blow out again.
So what is a decent replacement? I am on a budget so inexpensive is good but I don't want junk either.
Requirements are 4 ohm, 350 watts continuous power.
It's 6" deep. The magnet is 5" diameter and it has a 2" voice coil.

Eminence Delta Pro 15a is 8 ohm but probably a more sensitive driver so there might not be a noticable difference in output.
thing i'd be concerned with would be all dimensional clearances, depth, magnet dia., mount shoulder, etc...

being that it's a powered speaker it might have seen "karaoke duty" open mic feedback can kill a voice coil right quick! ask me i know, too many drivers and horn diaphragms replaced cuz the singer wanted to sing in front of the stacks!(long live comp/limiters!!!!)
Yeah the amps work I just got to replace the woofers. I just don't want to put much money into these. I was on the fence about putting new woofers in these or just looking for some efficient passive two way speakers to use with my Peavey M2600 power amp.
