Hi,
Is there any info available from the fellows about the crossover used in Altec Valencia 16 ohms loudspeaker?
After some search on the Internet I found out that it would be the model N800F and it seems ok for the LF driver, according Altec´s specs (fc=830Hz), with Q=0.88.
But the HF crossover shows me (if I´m not wrong here) a fc near 1300Hz, with low Q. That´s my doubt. It seems a little far from 830Hz of the LF driver to me, even considering the higher Q of the LF crossover.
Since the advertisements of a newer model of Valencia have info about the crossover being a N801 model, I just wanna check these values.
Regards and tks in advance,

1300Hz sound right to me, I think the model 19 was the same. It does seem high for an 800 Hz horn, but it works well. I've never had the chance to measure one, to know where the acoustic crossover point is.

Tks Pano!
Considering only the electrical response of the filters, there is a peak (1.6dB at 620Hz) and a dip (-1.3dB at 1560Hz) in the composed response, crossing 0dB at 1kHz.
It´s not a big problem, imho.
I´m just curious to know if the N800F is really the crossover of Valencia 16 ohms "A" model.
Best regards,
I have Valencia 16 ohm 846A speakers.
The stock XOVER is N-800
Tks!
Do you know if it is the F type?
Regards,
Yes its N-800F
I could not read it earlier so took photo with iPhone.
Tks again!
I think it answers my basic question about the asymmetrical behavior of the crossover network.
Best regards,
