Hi Guys,
Could any one help me out in finding replacement screws for an Altec compression drive that I got from a friend. The rear cover screws are missing together with the diaphragm. I can find lots of diaphragm replacements but not the screws
Thanks

whether JBL or Altec there's nothing unique about the screws if memory serves back cover are 8-32(size) 3/4"(length)(possibly 1) inch screws and diaphragm hold down are 6-24 5/8" but memory at my age is failing.
nothing that can't be resolved with a close inspection and a few measurements.
i'm surprised Cal didn't just check his drivers for screw sizing he's usually up for that sort of thing.
(unless he no longer has his)

I still have them but not here at home and it's been so long since I took them apart, I don't remember. 8-32 does sound right but maybe head over to the Altec site. I bet you'd have your answer by sundown. I think it also depends on the driver whether it's large or small format.
It's 6-32 size and the head style varies with the diaphragm, newer styles require a shorter screw with the fillister type head, older models are a pan head type, and are longer.
