Hello all,
I just picked up a Altec 1628 and I am seeing from the schematic that the C8 capacitor on the preamp board is marked as 100microF , but on my board its populated with a 15MFD cap. The board has some other funky things going on most likely from some other dude poking around. Just want to make sure this coincides with other peoples units, if not ill swap it out.

Are you using the "automatic" function?
If not, then C3 C8 make NO difference.
If you are, there are much better automatic mixers today.

Can you elaborate on how this only effects the Auto circuit? Im looking at the schematic and Im a little confused on the explanation of what S2 and S1 do to U2B and U2C.
