Hi,
This seller has sold 425 of these parts, and has 99.5% positive feeback for the Alps RK27: Ebay item 222904075341
I'm usually of the opinion that 90% of any branded components on Ebay are fake (especially if they are easily copied). However, if they've made 425 sales of that part, and been registered on Ebay for over 11 years, then how likely is it that the parts are fake?
Thanks in advance!

Why not post the link? eBay doesn't find anything when I search that number. EDIT: Found it. Might be legit.
FWIW: These are legit: Wholesale Buy Various Tube Guitar Amp DIY Repair Parts from mafaudio Vintage HIFI DIY and cost less than what you posted about.
So are these but you pay more than double: https://www.mouser.ca/ProductDetail...GAEpiMZZMv0NwlthflBi%2BUGoW7ypZKLrCsDPd/kT2s=

Proves nothing. Unlike a shirt or a skirt, buyers do not usually try-on a potentiometer right away. Many DIY projects linger for many years, often forever. If, 3 years down the road, I pull out a pot I bought and it is crap, do I rush to post a bad review? Too late? Really more likely to dig for another pot. Finishing the project is more important than complaining.
if you want to buy an alps pot, i suggest you familiarise yourself with specs/images etc from a reputable source first.
Thanks.
I've used the part for over 20 years, and have never deviated from official distros before on it. The reason I asked here is that I was desperate for a particular taper and this was the only source I thought had it (they don't!).
In truth, I suspect PRR could have a point. Being an established seller, with hundreds of people having bought the part, is no guarantee of it being genuine. If the clone is decent enough to last a few months without failing, and doesn't exhibit major channel drift or noise in operation, then most people won't worry about its authenticity (that's not to say the link I posted is selling snide parts).

I've bought a dozen or more of these Alps pots in dual and quad gang via ebay. The first thing I do when they arrive is measure the track to track error at a dozen or so points and compare with the Alps spec. I've never had one fail this test and never had one fail in use. They are either genuine or good enough fakes that I will never spot the difference.
