I have an alps 2702 50kax2 stereo pot with 8 pins how these to be wired cannot find anything on the web
The 4th set of pins is probably to ground the casing. The others are as usual for a potentiometer (gnd / wiper / input)
Loudness taps. Use a DVM to identify which is wiper and which is the loudness tap,

I do not understand how the loudness control works on a volume knob. I thought loudness control was that button you pushed to extend the bass and treble when playing soft

The tapered pot has a tap near 11 o'clock. Loudness not engaged, a resistor reduces all sound here. Loudness engaged, an R-C network on this tap reduces middles/highs when the pot is near 4 o'clock. (There are variations but that's the basics.)
