Alps 100K Stereo Balance Pot - Needed

Just what it says--is incorrect.

The pot value is a 250K Special Taper dual ganged pot.

Any have a spare balance Alps or other pot they aren't going to use?
I'm going to start a few updates to my SP3-A1 pre amp.

It's on the list of easy things to do.

I have five Noble Balance pots (really fancy types), but they are 25k... sorry...

Really a 250K Special Taper (Balance) Pot

Well I found out it's a 250K pot, special taper. Whoo Hoooo!

No longer a 100K. Hmmm so to make a 25K work....
Do I add a 100K resistor to each end of the pot and
let the wiper float at 25K? Wondering how that would
work.

Not sure that would work. you may have only control over small part (25k) of that 250k pot 1/2 turn for a balance pot.

Original was 250K, but a 100K will also work.

Jack, I tried looking at mouser stuff, but I didn't find one that would work...
I could be wrong though.

These are PCB mount. If you need one, i had PCB's made which convert to Molex 0.100" header.

Michael Percy still shows Alps Black Beauty's 100K and 250K balance controls in his catalog dated 9/15/16. I've been away from audio for a few years and haven't dealt with him in awhile, but it looks he's still in business.
