Alpine MRP-M500 dead?

About 2 days ago my amp suddenly stopped working. I installed it on my 2 12" Sony Xplod about 3 years ago. I have had absolutely NO problems with it until 2 days ago. I went to disconnect my fuse to work on it, and noticed the fuse was in pieces. I replaced the fuse, but it still did not help. I just had a cap installed today, hoping it might solve the problem, but no. If I turn my car off and on, and turn the volume low, the amp works, I can hear it. As soon as I turn the volume up a bit and the bass hits 1 time, it turns off, with the blue light still illuminated. I took my DMM and measured what was recommended to measure on other posts, and it all checks out. I checked with the car off, the Black lead to the ground, red lead to the amp's power input, 12v. I turned the car on and checked again, same reading.

I've had a small hole in one of my subs for quite a while, it was hitting against a lawn chair, apparently, and got punctured a bit. I was wondering could this be causing a problem? They worked for quite a while in that condition, so I just assumed they'd be ok until I could scrape up the money to replace them. I'm really not comfortable taking apart any electronics, so if this is what I'm advised to do I'd probably replace whatever's faulty. I was just wondering if someone could give me a list of what I should try (bearing in mind I know next to nothing about electronics.) in order to rule out possible problems. I had the cap installed today because I was tired of my headlights dimming, but I'd take that over not working any day! How do I check my car's battery with my DMM to rule out it could be my car battery? I'm going to assume it's ok tho, since I just checked the power to the amp and it was ok. Sorry for the lengthy post, but any help will be GREATLY appreciated!

I actually learned how to wire my subs from this website, so I know I'll get good advice! Thanks!😀
