AlphaCore Copper Foil or Solen Hepta-litz ???

The resistance depends on the wire gauge, or equivalent wire gauge of foil, (varying by width and thickness). With equivalent resistances, I have preferrred the foil, within it's range. I'm not sure why it seems to sound better, perhaps the physical inertness theories are correct.

In one case, where an L||R circuit is used for house curve/baffle step, a silver foil coil (in series with both mid and tweeter, before splitting the branches) was a worthwhile improvement. For the woofer, which responds very well to low DC resistance, the ERSE Super Q coils have worked out well; Jantzen Cut Toroid (new at Parts Express) will be tried in the next few days, with even lower DCR.
