Thanks to all here who help me with the steep learning curve regarding DIY full rangers. Really a most incredible web.
For simple builds with Mark Audio's 4" drivers, there are two easy approaches - the Pensil 70 and FH3. What are the strengths and weaknesses of each compared to each other?
Thanks,
UL

Am I wrong in that these are the differentiating advantages:
Frugel-Horn: More bass. Exquisitely beautiful.
Pensil: Enormously simple build.
except for the curved side panels and beveled end cuts, the FH3 can be a pretty darn simple assembly as well - particularly if using butt joints
another factor is that independent of the degree of WAF the FH might achieve in any particular domestic venue, and while designed not to require corner reinforcement with any the of Mark Audio drivers, it quite simply occupies more floor space
