New kid on the block waving hello from Connecticut. I've landed on this site a lot while looking for info, so I decided it was probably time to join up. I like anything to do with sound and electronics, I'm in my senior year at highschool, and I'm going to school for audio engineering next year.
I've built my share of gadgetry; poweramps of the discrete, integrated, and tube varieties, mic pres, tube guitar amps and solid-state effects, as well as restoring old radios, mixing consoles, and tape machines. I'm finishing a three-year project with, and paper on, tube emulation, which I hope to get published by the end of the year.
I'm the lead mixing engineer at my school's recording studio, head of the live sound department for the theatre group, and the only remaining multimedia-support tech (read: A/V club guy, but getting paid to do it).
I'm an amateur-radio operator, KB1SIQ. I've done work with antenna design and RF amplification, but I'm still pretty new to that field.

I'm here to absorb as much knowledge I can, and hopefully offer some of my own to others looking to learn.
