Holy @#%! Really????
I've spent a lot of time with Allen over the past 6 or 7 years. A real gentleman, loved sharing ideas and music. I'm... shattered.

This makes me VERY sad. He was a good friend. The audio world has lost one of its brightest lights.

Melanoma, very quick, I hear.
Evil form of cancer. It killed my boss quickly. From diagnosis to his passing was three months. He was 52 years old. This is common. My mother in law has had melanoma for over 4 years now. There was an experimental treatment at the University of Pittsburgh that kept the cancer from spreading, but couldn't kill it. Sadly the treatment ended when the sponsor figured out that there was no money to be made there. It doesn't look too good now.
It is sad to loose a fellow member in this way, or any other way.
This is bad news. Many of our high speed op-amps were designed by Jeff Townshend who passed away at 33 from the same malady. He was at the beach and a doctor mentioned a mole in the small of his back, he was gone in a few months.
I hadn't realised his New Zealand background - definitely a huge contributor to the diy audio cause and will be sorely missed.
For someone that must of been so busy, he always made time to reply to my questions. A real testoment to his character.
RIP Allen
