Well, just about all the pieces in place. At least the major ones.

I just bought a 400W metal halide light fixture. It's supposed to be the whole fixture, which I think I'll disassemble to make it fit the space that I have better. The bulb is a little lower colour temp that I ideally wanted, but since the bulb itself is about the cheapest thing in this project, I won't worry about it. It can be taken care of later. (And it still looked pretty white in the store, I'll manage.)

The lenses are coming from LumenLab. I didn't get the "pro" kit, just the standard one.

My LCD has been paid for, and will be on its way "Real soon, now" -- This is in a lot of ways the least of my worries because it's really the last stage of building. once I can project an image, I'll worry about it.

sup supraguy,

Just curious, where did u get ur bulb and what type is it? I got a 175watt cas most places freak out even when i mention about a 250watt mh HQI bulb. One guy told me, 400watt bulbs are impossible to keep cool as they can melt almost anything that is close to them. Thats why i will encapsulate my bulb in a metal case like all the other light engins but that still doesnt solve the heat issue.

Please share your ideas.

PS ... my lens from lumen labs are in Canada and have passed customs today according to the tracking. Hope u get yours soon aswell.

I bought the lamp from EECOL Electric

It was not just a ballast, socket and bulb, it's a whole fixture. I have a picture of the fixture here (Click link) which I disassembled (in this picture so that I can just take the ballast and socket for use in the projector.

Please excuse the high resolution, low quality images that my digital camera takes. I should have bumped down the resolution... This one ought to be better.
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
