The chip of the 250 acts like two of the 240's in parallel, so
you can use them, and use fewer of them. I would go from
12 to 8, or 8 to 6 devices as an example.

The only problem is it doesnt dissipate twice as much power in the single package.
This is why I stick to multiple pairs of 240/9240.
