Aleph P1.7 Power Transformer Question

Both the Aleph L and the P1.7 use the Avel Lindberg D4007 power transformer. This is only a 30VA transformer and it works well in my Aleph L. So does the P1.7 use one or two of these A-L transformers? It seems to be powering a lot more circuitry than in the L...

I'm using a single Plitron 50VA transformer to power my Aleph P 1.7 and have been repeatedly been told that it is overkill. I suspect a 30VA transformer would work just fine.

i have a 160VA 2x30V (in series) with this amp🙂
same input/attenuator Boards(dantimax).

I am reporting the D4007 transformer works just fine in the Aleph P1.7. Even after many hours of use it is just barely warm.

Sorry for the belated response; I've been travelling and have limited time or access of late. Dantimax supplied the attenuator, source selection and control boards for my Aleph P 1.7.

Each leg of the amplifier circuit uses 30ma X 2/channel x 2 channels= 120ma for a stereo setup. If you are running a 60v secondary and we multiply the 120ma DC load by 2 we get 240ma x60 = 14.4 watts as an estimate of the AC load. That is for the gain stages only. You would then need to power whatever control circuitry and attenuator relays you have in your build.
