After purchasing and assembling the original 6L6 group buy on Aleph J, I have decided to decommission my F6 and install the AJ in its place. Comments to follow.

Boards now loosened from chassis and desoldering is beginning. I see I will need longer input wires from RCAs, and I am out of the usual silver sonic interconnect stuff I usually use. Guess this will have to be twisted milspec silver coated Teflon stuff, neatly twisted. I hate wasting 4 keratherms, but thus is life

I found some left over cardas interconnect cabling for inputs. Board transplant complete, mosfets on keratherms and soldered in place. Rereading fire up notes to be followed by a good wiring stare down.
While the F6 was a nice amp, it was either it or M2, or my Complemenary BA3, both of which I prefer over F6. I could of also done F5, but being my first Pass Amp it has a special place.

Steady at. 41 and zeroed offset. I really thought this would be hotter. Room is 70F, keratherms, and deluxe 4 box. Devices are around 50C -52C.

Firing up as we speak, cardiac up to 50 volts, less lighting, so far so good.

cardiac..? Variac.😀
In system, quiet as mouse with mid to higher 90s efficient speakers. Ahmad Jamal Blue Moon for break in.

I was wondering about cardiac... lol 😀 😀 😀
If things are stable with lid on after an hour, honestly you are good. I'd let it cook all day and double check, but I suspect it will be the same.
Check again in a week, but you'll find this is a design that's quite temp stable.

Stabilizing, but was tending to slowly drift down in bias. Seems more stable now.

Let it sit there for an hour. Lid resting on top.
Right now there is a cat resting on top. (Lid on of course)

Its just as I suspected, This amp rocks. Yes, Yes indeed. I cant stop listening to it, cats cant stop sleeping on it.

Congratulations on your Aleph J build! 6L6 recommended it for my first build and I’ve loved it ever since. I look forward to listening to music every day even more so because the J sounds so good.
I have marveled over the M2 as well. Close call between those to....two different flavors of Excellency!
