Referring to Kristijan's drawing above and Nelson's suggestion of "better connectors and wire" in "Top ten ways to a better Aleph?" (http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=12923&perpage=15&pagenumber=2) I have two questions.
In Kristijan's drawing one end of the inputs, both RCA and XLR, is tied to ground on the PCB and the other end is floating. This gives me the impression of some sort of shielded cable. Is this true? And the answer to this question kind of leads into the next question.
Choosing from the Percy Audio site what would my fellow forum members suggest as a good upgraded wire?
Regards,
Dan
I would use sheilded cable in anything over an inch long..... the jumper can be a simple hook up wire...as always keep any power wires away from the signal...hope this helps

I'm looking through the aforementioned Percy Audio's interconnect wire selection for the inputs. I see where he carries alot of shielded interconnect wire. Also, I'm looking at some of the pure silver "chassis" wire for the outputs.

I like to use Kimber TCSS 19ga wire. It is very user friendly and it sounds totally differend from silver plated copper stranded wire, it's very smooth and laid back, while plated copper has more edge.
Cardas wire might be good choice too, but it's enameled and solder pot is almost required to terminate it.
I used solid silver wire in my gainclone, but came to conclusion that it's too smooth and lacking in bass.
I usually use 19ga. fo signal and 14 ga for power wires. I don't think you need a shield. I never use shielded wire, the chassiss works as shield anyway😉
If you can find solid core copper wire, it may be actually good and cheap solution.

I'm also still in doubt what best to use for the internal wiring of my Aleph5. eg for connecting the mosfets (p2p).
Some choices:
- 1.5 mm silverwire (15 awg), 99.97% pure from intertechnik , costing me 70 euro for 2 meters
- 0.65 mm OFC (22 awg) in Teflon (OTA cable from 47lab) costing 7 euro/meter. However is this thick enough?? I could use 2 twisted.
- 1.0 mm crystal silverwire (18 awg) vandenHul mcs1000, probably 100 euro/meter
- 2.5 mm2 plain copperwire (13 awg) 1 euro/meter
The Kimber wire sounds also interresting, but I don't think its sold around here.

Of course I know Kimber (and where its sold), but I never heard of Kimber TCSS 19ga wire. I only know the speakerwires, interlinks, powercords and so on.Tazzy said:Studio107.nl is a kimber reseller

This system is very similar to the one used for
