Aleph 30 diy - total beginner

I've found somewhere in this forum's depths a xls calculator on Single End Aleph designs power, dissipation, etc.. According to it, J, 3, 30 and similar amps have some 32W at 4 ohm impedance.
I've ran Babelfish j Mini on 4 ohm 84dB Visatons (som 8-10W at 4 ohm) and can say, dude, that is the hell of sound both quality and strength.
No worries at all, and no needs for Aleph 5 and other heavyweights, at least for beginning 🙂
There is something special about A class amps in term of output power, it ain't just loud music, it is something that fills the room with sound... You get a feeling amp has double the power than it says in documents. Really unique feeling.

it really (power , I mean) depends of Aleph CCS gain , usually called around as Aleph (CCS) AC gain

in layman terms , that's amount of how much upper part of amp (ALeph CCS itself ) is contributing to push-pull operation of output stage

so , if set differently ( and indeed , there are various percentages in various Aleph amps , or generations if you prefer) , said xls file must be edited accordingly

conclusion - that xls file isn't Opinel couteau 😉

I have a classe A DIY headphone amplifier ( not built from me) and it sounds so nice that I decided to start building hi-fi (using an existing project).
Now I have a Nad S100+S200 that are very good but I am looking from the good sound that I can ear using my class A headphone AMP! That amp is only 0,32 w/32 ohm but it is more power that another class T amp that I bought (1w/32 ohm)!

There is a common problem from me, regarding all kind of amps mentioned.
It is the matching mosfets.
I'll post some draws for dummies (like me) to show what I understood about matching.
Today I get a DIY makers book so I can study the most important thing that a maker shoud know!

The Bablefish J is Zen Mods version of the Aleph J.
It is completely customizeable to match any speaker load.
You could use a single pair of IRFP150 or ask Zen Mod to send you two sets of 2 x matched pairs for your setup.
I'd get the 5U case from diyaudio store and bias the amp for around 2.5A to give you max of 5A with Bablefish J. 2A would also be perfectly acceptable. I've found single ended designs love any additional current you throw at them with your sort of speakers.
